Print. Build. Play. The Ultimate 3D-Printed Subbuteo Stadium is Here

For many Subbuteo fans, the dream has always been bigger than the pitch.

It’s about the full matchday experience. The towering stands. The bright lights. The atmosphere of a stadium packed with potential. And now — thanks to one fan’s passion project turned global offering — that dream is finally within reach.

Introducing the Modular 3D Stadium Asset Pack, a beautifully crafted set of over 50 STL files that lets you build and customize your very own Subbuteo stadium, one printable piece at a time.

It’s more than a set of files. It’s a gateway to creating the home ground you’ve always imagined.

From Childhood Obsession to COVID Creation

Paul Goad, a lifelong Subbuteo player and professional 3D artist, grew up in 1970s England where the game was a regular part of his childhood.

“I’ve always loved Subbuteo,” Paul says. “When COVID hit and everything slowed down, I finally had the time to build the stadium I always dreamed of as a kid. I started designing and printing it section by section and the online response was incredible.”

That passion project turned into something much bigger: a fully modular stadium system tested, refined, and now available to Subbuteo fans everywhere.

50+ Printable Pieces — Tested and Game-Ready

This is no gimmick. Every element in the pack has been 3D-printed and field-tested to work seamlessly on a standard Subbuteo table. The pack includes:

Straight and corner seating stands
Roof trusses and coverings
Light towers and stands
Individual seats for detail builders
Customizable advertising boards
A nostalgic mechanical scoreboard with rotating dials
Modular base connectors
And plenty more for creative freedom

“I printed an entire stadium myself. Every piece was iterated on and tested to ensure it printed well and didn’t interfere with gameplay,” Paul explains. “This isn’t just a visual upgrade. It’s built for play.”

True Modularity = Infinite Possibilities

Paul’s system is entirely modular. Pieces place together without tools, so you can change your layout anytime, from a compact retro stand to a full covered stadium.

Each section is standalone. Want to print a two-tier main stand? Go for it. Only have room for one end? That works too. And since everything is printable on hobbyist-level machines, it’s accessible, piece by piece, on your schedule and budget.

“There’s no better feeling than printing and showcasing your own stadium. It becomes the centerpiece of your hobby room,” Paul says. “It’s not just for looks — it’s meant to be played on.”

Fully Customizable. Make It Yours

With 3D printing, you’re in control. Print in your club’s colors. Create your own sponsor boards. Mix and match sections. Paint the seats. Add flags. Whether you’re recreating your local ground or designing a fantasy stadium, these files give you the foundation.

And for those who love immersion, the mechanical scoreboard offers a tactile way to keep score, no batteries required, just nostalgia.

No Printer? No Problem.

Even if you don’t own a 3D printer, owning these files is still valuable. You can take the STL files to:

  • Local makerspaces

  • Nearby 3D print shops

  • Online freelancers or print-on-demand services

And because you own the files, you can print your stadium piece by piece, now or in the future.

In fact, Paul’s even enabled something rare for the hobby…

Yes, You Can Sell What You Print

Buyers of the STL pack are granted personal-use resale rights, meaning you’re free to print and sell the physical stadium pieces to others.

“You just can’t sell or distribute the digital files themselves,” Paul says. “But I’ve priced the pack so low that most people can start profiting within their first week of printing.”

That makes this not only a personal project, but a potential small business starter for anyone looking to turn their love of Subbuteo and 3D printing into a side hustle. The only restriction is that owners of the set cannot sell or distribute the digital files.

Join a Growing Global Community

Since first sharing the designs, Paul has seen his modular stadiums pop up in homes around the world. From dedicated club setups to weekend family builds, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“I think it’s inspired others to start creating their own designs,” he says. “The Facebook stadium community has been amazing, it’s full of creativity, collaboration, and that shared love for the game.”
